About us
Supporting children and young people with Down’s syndrome, their families and those that work with them.
Everyone has the right to reach their potential, and we are here to help.
21 Together is a registered charity in Kent set up in 2016 by four parents each with a child with Down’s syndrome. It is now a vibrant and thriving community charity with families at the heart of everything we do.
People say, “it takes a village to raise a child”, 21 Together believes it takes more than that. It takes a community!
We work with our community to empower networks and families to best support their loved ones and themselves. Delivering gold standard services that are focused on impact, improves the lives of families of people with Down’s syndrome throughout Kent and the surrounding area.
Here is a tiny snapshot of what our community think:
“This service made Katie feel included and able to express herself freely without judgement. This is something that She does not have in any other setting including special school setting.”
“A lifesaver for young people with additional needs who find lockdown even harder to understand and missing social interactions with people.”
“We are so lucky to have this charity in our area. We always know that there is help available when needed to navigate through the different situations that may arise when supporting our family member with DS.”
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the wellbeing sessions. There’s been a great mix of activities and I’ve attempted things I would have never done and found I really enjoy them. its great opportunity to do something for myself. I close the door and let the chaos continue the other side of it. Thank you”
